Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joey Sikrokohv!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sikrokohv changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nyberg tries to avoid it but Sikrokohv manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nyberg to the ground. Nyberg escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sikrokohv has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nyberg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Sikrokohv paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nyberg drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nyberg postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sikrokohv is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nyberg throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sikrokohv works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Nyberg lands a couple of elbows.
Nyberg has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Nyberg wants to stand but Sikrokohv has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Nyberg's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Nyberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Sikrokohv is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nyberg wants to get up but he can't break Sikrokohv's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Daniel Nyberg has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sikrokohv has a takedown stuffed.

Nyberg pushes Sikrokohv up against the ropes in a clinch.

Nyberg tries to pull guard but Sikrokohv won't allow it.
Nyberg tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sikrokohv has clasped his hands together around Nyberg's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sikrokohv prevents Nyberg from escaping the position.

Sikrokohv has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Nyberg is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sikrokohv yanks on the arm and Nyberg is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sikrokohv.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joey Sikrokohv!
Joey Sikrokohv decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
