Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jon Phenomenon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel's entrance music is Immortal Technique-Point of no return. A fine choice. Cory Steel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jon Phenomenon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Steel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Phenomenon.
Phenomenon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Steel.
Steel connects with the punch.
Phenomenon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Phenomenon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Steel thows a left - swing and a miss!
Phenomenon tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Steel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steel.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Steel pushes down on Phenomenon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Steel trying to control from half guard but Phenomenon is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel prevents Phenomenon from improving his position.
Steel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Phenomenon keeps working.
Phenomenon is looking to control Steel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Phenomenon avoid being mounted?
Steel wants to work for an arm triangle but Phenomenon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Phenomenon wants to get back to full guard.
Phenomenon manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Good standup being displayed there by Steel as he connects with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Phenomenon moves to clinch but Steel breaks away
and Steel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Phenomenon is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Phenomenon tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Steel scores with a counter punch that sends Phenomenon to the canvas! Steel smells blood - he's punishing Phenomenon with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Phenomenon has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cory Steel!
