PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Drone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by t.i and ludacris-wish you would. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slim Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tyson Drone!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jim fails with the takedown

so Drone counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Drone is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Drone stopping the sweep attempt from Jim.

Drone drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jim manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Drone has Jim in his guard.

Jim wants to pass the guard but Drone is keeping the position.

Drone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jim defends well.

Jim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Drone is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jim pulls his head out easily.

Jim is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Jim is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jim is looking for a kimura but Drone is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jim to get the leverage.

Jim wants to work for an arm triangle but Drone is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Jim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Drone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jim, into his guard.

Jim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Slim Jim will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Drone is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jim sees it coming and defends easily.
Tyson Drone has got the better of the ground game so far.

Drone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jim is just riding it out for now. Drone eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jim looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Drone pushes past his half guard into mount!

Drone swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jim is now in Drone's guard. A big mistake from Drone there, giving up the dominant position!
Jim might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Drone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Drone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jim can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jim drops back, looking for a kneebar! Drone looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Drone looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Drone!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Drone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Drone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jim has his takedown stuffed

and Drone counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jim!
Jim is looking to get to half guard.

Drone goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jim turns into him and now he's in Drone's guard.
Jim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jim won't allow Drone to sweep him here.

Drone has his foot on Jim's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jim works his way back into a safe position though.

Tyson Drone comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Drone has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
