Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Albert Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Slapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Albert Montoya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominic Slapp! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montoya feints and then cracks Slapp's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Slapp down. Montoya bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Montoya swings around for an armbar but Slapp sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Montoya's guard. Montoya has his foot on Slapp's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slapp works his way back into a safe position though. Montoya has Slapp pulled in close to control his posture. Montoya controls Slapp momentarily but Slapp frees himself. Slapp stands and steps away. Montoya gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Montoya has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Montoya there as he acknowledges the shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slapp lands a glancing blow to the side of Montoya's head. A combination from Montoya does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slapp misses with a jab, cross combination.
Montoya lands a front kick. Slapp displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Montoya. Some wild striking there from Slapp.
Montoya is looking to clinch but Slapp is avoiding it.
Slapp gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Montoya to score an easy takedown into full guard. Montoya is breathing heavily. Montoya stops Slapp from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montoya trying to control the position from guard on top but Slapp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Montoya will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Slapp wants to get back to his feet but Montoya is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Montoya trying to stand up but can't free himself from Slapp's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Slapp. Those never looked like landing. Slapp misses with a wild combination.

Slapp throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Slapp has his feet on Montoya's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Montoya. A left and a right from Slapp both land. Nice combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Slapp throws a right and a left that both miss. Slapp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Montoya. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Montoya fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slapp manages to avoid it. Montoya looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Montoya trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

so Montoya counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slapp wants to stand but Montoya is controlling the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slapp is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montoya is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Montoya is standing up over Slapp. Slapp looks to escape but Montoya dives into side control.
Montoya stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montoya shoots in but Slapp avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Albert Montoya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slapp fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Montoya steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Slapp. That one must have hurt. Slapp scores with a decent looking hook. Montoya looks for a takedown but Slapp sprawls well. A left lands for Slapp. Montoya dodges the punch combination from Slapp.
Montoya closes the distance and clinches up with Slapp, looking for a takedown. Montoya pushes Slapp against the cage but Slapp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A combination from Slapp does no damage. Dominic Slapp seems to be getting the better of the standup. Slapp misses with a two punch combination.

Montoya closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slapp circles away. Slapp throws a right and a left that Montoya avoids nicely. Slapp tries to bum rush Montoya with a series of wild strikes but Montoya uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Montoya is defended easily by Slapp. Slapp scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montoya is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Slapp. Montoya feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Montoya prevents Slapp from getting back to his feet. Montoya is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Slapp is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Slapp has escaped and now he's on top! Montoya wants to control the position but Slapp says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Albert Montoya will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Slapp enables Montoya to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Slapp manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Montoya controls from within his opponent's guard. Montoya won't allow Slapp to get back to his feet. Montoya sitting in guard here, content to control. Slapp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Montoya changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slapp tries to avoid it but Montoya manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slapp to the ground. Slapp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Albert Montoya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slapp sizes up Montoya with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. No joy there for Slapp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slapp throws a combination. Montoya tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Good standup being displayed there by Slapp as he connects with a hook. Montoya tries to clinch there but Slapp circles away.
Montoya gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slapp scores with a nice head shot. Montoya shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Slapp defends it nicely. Slapp misses with a series of wild punches.
Montoya shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slapp but Slapp pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Slapp!
Danga de danga de dang - Slapp scores with a four punch combination! Slapp throws a combination. Montoya tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slapp sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Slapp uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Montoya. Montoya takes one to the chin there. Montoya fails in his attempt to clinch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Montoya. Slapp swinging wildly here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Montoya tries to move into full mount but can't pass Slapp's legs. Slapp wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Montoya controls the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Montoya seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Slapp for as long as he can get away with.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Albert Montoya. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Montoya, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
