Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spike Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Ricci!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silva.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Ricci tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ricci manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva shoots in but Ricci avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spike Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is controlling the pace.
Silva tries to pass to full mount but Ricci defends it.
Ricci is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silva not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Silva escapes and gets back to his feet.

and Ricci counters with a nice body kick.

and Ricci counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Ricci rushes Silva and presses him up against the cage.
Ricci has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silva uses from the top position.
Ricci has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.
Ricci wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.

Ricci manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A nice inside leg kick there by Ricci. That's going to slow Silva down.
Ricci shoots in but no luck this time.
Silva tries for a takedown but Ricci circles away easily
and Ricci decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.
Ricci must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Silva wriggles free and stands up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silva misses with a takedown
letting Ricci counter with a right hand.

and Ricci counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Silva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Ricci is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Silva is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Silva wants to pass the guard but Ricci is keeping the position.

Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ricci takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ricci is working for a guillotine from mount but Silva frees his head quite easily.

Silva regains half guard.
Silva is pressing down on Ricci's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ricci is one step ahead there.
Silva looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ricci is defending well. Silva quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ricci has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Silva celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
