Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Markus Rieech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Alard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rieech comes into the arena with DMX ft. Black Violin-Im a Ryder blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Markus Rieech!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Alard!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rieech fails with the takedown.
Rieech stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rieech wants it to stay on the feet.
A nice combination there by Rieech.
Rieech fails in his attempt to clinch.
Alard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rieech.
Alard shoots in but no luck this time.
Rieech throws a quick inside leg kick.
Rieech uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alard.

Alard is trying to drag Rieech to the mat but Rieech just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Markus Rieech has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Alard.

Alard drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alard postures up in Rieech's guard and throws a big left but Rieech blocks it.
Alard showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Alard wants to control from the top but Rieech keeps moving.
Alard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Alard drops back looking for a leg! Rieech is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rieech manages to kick Alard off! Alard jumps back into Rieech's guard.
Alard controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rieech wants to get back to his feet but Alard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rieech keeping moving, preventing Alard from controlling successfully.
Alard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Aaron Alard has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Rieech will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Markus Rieech seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alard takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alard.
Rieech feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Alard's calf.

Rieech misses with a double jab.
A slapping leg kick lands for Rieech.
Alard stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rieech.

Rieech shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rieech showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alard is looking for a sweep. Rieech is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rieech knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alard on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alard is pressing down on Rieech's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Alard is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Alard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Markus Rieech will probably get the nod.

Rieech misses with a body kick.
Rieech's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rieech duly obliges.
Rieech tries for a takedown but Alard circles away easily

and Alard counters with a shoot takedown. Rieech fights it but they end up in guard.
Rieech wants to stand and escape but Alard is having none of it.
Alard is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Alard is pushing down on Rieech's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rieech is fighting to maintain full guard but Alard has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alard wants to pass the guard but Rieech is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Alard is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Alard landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Alard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Alard maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Rieech could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Alard has cracked it and Rieech is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Alard!
