Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy Kopec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franck Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kopec comes into the arena with Boats 'N Hoes blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kopec lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peters circles away quickly and effectively. Kopec really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kopec fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Peters bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kopec's head.
It looks like Guy Kopec has been cut. Kopec waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Peters. Kopec misses with a wild combination.
Kopec misses with a few strikes there.
Kopec uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peters.
Peters closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Peters can't break the clinch.
Peters has clasped his hands together around Kopec's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Peters trying to control the action but Kopec is working from the bottom. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Peters prevents Kopec from escaping the position. Peters looks up at the clock and then as Kopec takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Peters smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kopec is trying to buck Peters off. Kopec gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters trying to control but Kopec is having none of it. Kopec is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Peters trying to control but he's not successful this time. Peters throwing strikes here but Kopec is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Kopec squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Kopec trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Kopec on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kopec tries to get out of the position. Peters unloading with bombs! Peters landing strikes from the mount. Peters lands a big elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peters is in the full mount, landing strikes. Peters goes for an armbar but Kopec turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kopec.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kopec stands up and waves to Peters to follow him. Guy Kopec is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kopec looks to land a combination but Peters avoids it well. Kopec lands a two punch combo.
Peters closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Peters wants to break the clinch but can't.
Peters gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kopec.
Kopec is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Kopec changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Peters fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Guy Kopec. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peters throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kopec scores with the left hand. Peters knows he should have avoided that one. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peters. Kopec misses with a few strikes there.
Peters closes the distance and clinches. Peters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kopec falls off balance throwing a combination
and Peters counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kopec thinking. Kopec moves out of range of the strikes. Peters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Peters swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kopec lands with a nice body punch. Kopec throws a combination that misses and Peters counters with a nice uppercut. Kopec lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peters circles away quickly and effectively. Peters looks to land a combination. Kopec sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kopec throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Peters darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kopec takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kopec is rocked! Peters steps in with a hook that catches Kopec right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Peters follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Kopec looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Franck Peters! Franck Peters is the new lightweight champion! Franck Peters really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Milwaukee's Best 160 - Green Bay Packer's 13-0 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
