Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sheldon Winters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Slice! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slice misses with a double jab
and Winters counters by clinching up. Winters throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Winters is looking to break free of the clinch but Slice has double underhooks. Winters is trying to break free. Winters jumps guard but Slice stands there with Winters around his waist. Winters gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Winters can't break the clinch.
Winters tries to land knees in the clinch but Slice avoids the damage to the body. Winters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Slice misses with a combination
letting Winters counter with a right hand. A nice combination there by Slice.
It looks like Sheldon Winters has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Slice throws a left and a right that both miss
and Winters counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Aaron Slice has been cut. Slice throws a right hand that Winters ducks under and follows up with a left that Winters also avoids with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slice throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Winters cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Slice throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Winters has Slice up against the cage in a clinch.
Winters pushes Slice back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Winters pulls guard. Winters throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Winters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winters is on top in guard.
Winters throws a strike but Slice rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Slice looks gassed! Slice stands up and waves to Winters to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winters has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Winters has Slice pressed against the cage.
Winters manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winters is on top in guard.
Winters working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Winters content to stall in guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winters prevents Slice from getting back to his feet. Slice can't keep his opponent in guard - Winters advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Winters passes the guard and advances to mount! Winters throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winters looking to control and managing it successfully. Winters throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Slice wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Winters.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sheldon Winters dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Winters shoots for a takedown but Slice saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Winters fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Slice, pushing him back against the cage. Slice wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Winters has him pressed against the cage. Winters can't break the clinch.
Winters dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Slice working hard to break the clinch. Slice is trying to break the clinch but Winters has him pressed against the cage. Winters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Slice throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Winters holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Slice prevents the takedown attempt.
Winters content to slow the pace in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slice tries to break the clinch but Winters is controlling the position. Winters looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Slice prevents Winters from breaking the clinch. Winters drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Winters. That's going to take a lot out of him. Winters gets control of Slice's arms and successfully pulls guard. Winters will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Slice trying to control the position from guard on top but Winters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Slice is looking to stand up but Winters won't let him. Slice is breathing heavily. Winters scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Slice is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Winters drags the fight down to the ground.
Winters has his foot on Slice's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slice works his way back into a safe position though. Slice in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Winters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Slice can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Slice thows a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slice would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Slice trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Winters looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Slice really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Winters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Winters controlling the position. Winters tries to strike from the bottom.
Slice works over Winters with some ground and pound from guard. Winters trying to control the position here. Slice throws a strike but Winters rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Winters stands up and waves to Slice to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winters will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Slice defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Winters. Winters has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Winters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Slice throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Slice keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slice throws a series of punches but Winters avoids them all with ease. Slice throws a nice looking combination but Winters bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Slice swinging wildly here.
Winters misses with a body kick. Slice tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Winters was well out of range. Poor timing from Slice. Slice misses with a double jab
and Winters counters with a lovely shot to the body. Sheldon Winters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Winters shoots for a takedown but Slice saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Winters throws a combination. Slice tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Winters thows a leg kick but Slice checks it and Slice counters with a three punch combo that has Winters backing up. Winters nods at Slice to acknowledge the strikes. Winters throws a head kick that misses.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Winters clinches up against the cage. Winters goes for a takedown in the clinch but Slice prevents it.

Slice wants to stand and escape but instead Winters has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Winters controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sheldon Winters wasn't doing enough on the ground. Nice sprawl there from Slice as Winters shoots in. Winters fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Slice on the side of the head. Slice throws a combination that misses and Winters moves into the clinch. Sheldon Winters is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Winters takes the fight into the clinch.
