The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paulsson pinned against the cage. Paulsson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Paulsson throws a looping overhand right but Hammer ducks down to avoid it.

Paulsson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hammer's waist but Hammer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paulsson off to one side.

and Hammer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

and Paulsson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammer's guard.
Hammer wants to get back to his feet but Paulsson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hammer is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Paulsson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Paulsson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hammer anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Paulsson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hammer slips an arm under Paulsson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hammer has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hammer is squeezing on Paulsson like an anaconda would it's prey. Paulsson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
