Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Socially Awkward Penguin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Junior Silva has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Junior Silva seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penguin tries a head kick but it misses.
Penguin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Silva.
Silva has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Penguin.
Silva misses the shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Silva lands a really nice looking cross but Penguin seems unphased.
It looks like Socially Awkward Penguin has been cut.
Penguin ducks under a wild hook from Silva.
Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Socially Awkward Penguin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Penguin thuds his shin into the meat of Silva's side.
Penguin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab.

Penguin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Penguin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Penguin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Penguin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Silva.
Penguin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Penguin wants it to stay on the feet.

Silva connects with a jab.
Penguin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Penguin misses with a head kick.
Silva throws the left hand but Penguin avoids the punch easily.

Penguin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Penguin's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Penguin wants to get back to his feet but Silva passes into half guard.

Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penguin is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Penguin circles away and we're back to standing.
Socially Awkward Penguin seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Silva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Penguin's guard.

Silva wants to control from the top but Penguin keeps moving.

Silva is pressing down on Penguin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Penguin is holding on for now.
Penguin makes his way to full guard, as Silva worked for a kimura.
Penguin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penguin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Penguin.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Penguin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Penguin counters with a good, hard body kick but Silva shrugs it off.
Silva changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fighters circling - Silva throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Penguin's waist but Penguin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penguin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Silva shoots in for a takedown but Penguin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Penguin sprawls well.

Junior Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Penguin's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Penguin keeps working.
Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
Silva thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Junior Silva.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
