Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Ladd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Piston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joel Ladd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Piston! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ladd shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Piston but Piston pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ladd fails with a takedown attempt. Piston looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ladd is defending against the submission attempts here by Piston.
Piston landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Piston uses his free foot to push down on Ladd's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ladd. Piston looking to secure an arm triangle but Ladd defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Piston trying to control but Ladd is having none of it. Ladd defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Piston. Ladd really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Piston is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ladd has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piston looking to finish with strikes here!
Ladd on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ladd tries to get out of the position. Piston moves to the back position. Ladd staying busy and making it hard for Piston to control. Piston might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ladd kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Piston looking for the choke but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piston is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ladd has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Will Piston go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Piston seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Ladd's chin but Ladd turns very nicely into Piston's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Ladd.
Piston looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ladd has picked Piston up and slammed him! Piston can't keep hold of the triangle and Ladd manages to pass to side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Piston is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Piston wants to improve his position but Ladd is controlling well.
Piston throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Ladd prevents Piston from improving his position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Piston is looking to get back to full guard here but Ladd has managed to pass to side control instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Piston dominated that round. That's time! Ladd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Piston looking to score a takedown here. Ladd is defending well but Piston drives through and ends up in Ladd's guard. Piston wants to control from the top but Ladd keeps moving. Piston postures up in Ladd's guard and throws a big left but Ladd blocks it. Ladd keeping moving, preventing Piston from controlling successfully. Ladd keeping full guard, as Piston tries to pass. Piston is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Ladd wants to stand up but Piston is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Piston tries to free his leg and advance position but Ladd is retaining full guard. Piston working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Piston looking to pass the guard. Piston trying to control the position from guard on top but Ladd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Piston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ladd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piston looking to sit in guard and control but Ladd gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Piston lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ladd! Piston goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ladd is on top in guard.
Ladd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Piston on the ground. Piston is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ladd rolls with it to try and escape but Piston cranks on the arm and Ladd is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joe Piston!
