Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alberik Gunther!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ronnie Kolamies!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunther darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gunther wants to get back to his feet.
Kolamies is controlling Gunther's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Gunther really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gunther throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gunther not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Gunther is looking for a kimura but Kolamies is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gunther to get the leverage.

Gunther is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kolamies actively working from the bottom here.

Gunther seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kolamies trying to control but Gunther postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gunther working the head and body with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunther trying to control from Kolamies's half guard. Kolamies has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Kolamies has his feet on Gunther's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Gunther shoots in looking for a takedown but Kolamies manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gunther's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kolamies tries to sprawl but Gunther drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kolamies wants to get back to his feet.
Gunther is looking to advance position but Kolamies won't allow it.
Gunther wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kolamies keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gunther is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kolamies defends it well.
Gunther not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Gunther thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kolamies's head.
Kolamies is pressing down on Gunther's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kolamies is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kolamies is looking to advance position but Gunther won't allow it.
Kolamies frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gunther is squirming around, avoiding Kolamies's attempts to control the action.
Kolamies in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gunther tries to hold on but Kolamies postures up.
Gunther is desperately trying to improve his position but Kolamies has a good base and remains in mount.
Kolamies controlling from the full mount.
Kolamies trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kolamies wants to control but Gunther has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Kolamies is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nice strikes from Kolamies there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gunther actively working from the bottom here.
Gunther is looking for a sweep. Kolamies is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kolamies lands with a punch from half guard.

Gunther is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kolamies pulls his head out easily.
Kolamies uses his free foot to push down on Gunther's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gunther.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee warns Gunther that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gunther is trying to reverse the position but instead Kolamies has taken his back - oops!
Gunther is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kolamies is working the ground and pound. Can Gunther escape?
Kolamies is hanging on to Gunther's back as he tries to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ronnie Kolamies dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Gunther tries for a takedown but Kolamies circles away easily

and Kolamies counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gunther's guard now.


Gunther is rocked!
Kolamies sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Oh Gunther is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kolamies loads up on a big left hand. Gunther felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Kolamies looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Gunther can't hide his disappointment, as Kolamies celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronnie Kolamies!
An out of breath Ronnie Kolamies thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
