Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fox Tribe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artem Vaits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fox Tribe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artem Vaits!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaits defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tribe.
Tribe misses with a takedown

so Vaits counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tribe keeping moving, preventing Vaits from controlling successfully.

Vaits drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tribe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tribe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tribe!

Tribe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vaits is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Tribe tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Vaits tries to escape but Tribe is in control.

Tribe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vaits has escaped the position, nice work there.
Vaits taking a bit of punishment here - Tribe scoring with strikes.
Vaits is looking to reverse the position.

Tribe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Vaits wants to control but Tribe postures up.
Vaits tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tribe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vaits is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Vaits is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tribe asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Vaits is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tribe's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Tribe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vaits knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Vaits is pressing down on Tribe's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Vaits is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vaits wants to stand up but Tribe is controlling him.

Tribe won't allow Vaits to sweep him here.
Vaits keeping moving, preventing Tribe from controlling successfully.

Vaits is pulling down on Tribe's head. It's preventing any offense from Tribe, at least for the moment.
Tribe throws a big right hand that misses.
Tribe wants to pass the guard but Vaits is keeping the position.
Vaits is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tribe shoots in looking for a takedown but Vaits manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tribe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fox Tribe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vaits closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vaits lands in his opponent's guard.

Vaits gets to his feet. Tribe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Artem Vaits seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vaits closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Vaits gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vaits postures up.
Vaits working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Vaits connects with a couple of short punches.
Tribe keeping full guard, as Vaits tries to pass.
Vaits throwing strikes but missing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tribe working for a triangle but Vaits defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Artem Vaits dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Vaits moves into the clinch.
Vaits looking for a takedown.

Vaits breaks the clinch.
Vaits shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tribe as he jumps to the side.
Tribe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vaits sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tribe somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Vaits. No joy for Tribe on that attempt.

Vaits closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tribe's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vaits thows a big elbow that misses.
Vaits won't allow Tribe to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vaits wants to control from the top but Tribe keeps moving.
Vaits throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tribe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vaits postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tribe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vaits, into his guard.
Artem Vaits has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vaits trying to keep a closed guard but Tribe is proving a slippery customer.
Vaits looking for a sweep. Not yet Vaits, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Vaits throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Tribe wants to control from the top but Vaits keeps moving.

Tribe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Vaits keeping moving, preventing Tribe from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vaits wants to stand up but Tribe is controlling him.
Tribe trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaits is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Fox Tribe.
Tribe dives in and grabs Vaits's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vaits pushes down on Tribe's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fox Tribe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tribe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Vaits looking to pass the guard.

Vaits got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tribe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vaits has managed to get both his arms back between Tribe's legs - danger averted.

Vaits stands up and waves to Tribe to follow him.

Vaits tries to sprawl but Tribe drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Tribe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vaits is positioning himself well to prevent Tribe advancing to mount.
Vaits moves into full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vaits working a defensive guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Artem Vaits showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Tribe tries to clinch up.
Tribe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vaits sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Vaits will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Vaits displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tribe.

Vaits clinches up with Tribe and pushes him back against the cage.

Vaits gets control of Tribe's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vaits will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Tribe wants to control from the top but Vaits keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vaits has his foot on Tribe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tribe works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tribe trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaits is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vaits looking for a sweep. Not yet Vaits, not yet.

Tribe is posturing up here but Vaits has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tribe tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tribe has to tap! Slick submission there by Vaits!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Artem Vaits!
Artem Vaits decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
