Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Karusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean Whitez!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Karusa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whitez.
Whitez throws a hook but Karusa blocks it.
Karusa throws a poor cross that misses
and Whitez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Karusa misses with an uppercut.
Whitez misses with a double jab.
Karusa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Whitez.
Karusa tries to clinch there but Whitez circles away.
Karusa moves out of range as Whitez strikes.
Whitez cracks Karusa with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Karusa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sean Whitez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karusa lands a front kick.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Whitez and Karusa goes tumbling to the canvas! Whitez follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Karusa is rocked!
It looks like Kevin Karusa has been cut.
Karusa is defending against the submission attempts here by Whitez.
Oh Karusa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whitez tries to pass to full mount but Karusa defends it.
Karusa is looking for a sweep. Whitez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Karusa seems to have got his legs back now.
Karusa is breathing heavily.
Whitez is looking for a kimura but Karusa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Whitez to get the leverage.
Whitez is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Whitez wants to work for an arm triangle but Karusa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Karusa kicks off Whitez and gets to his feet.
Karusa takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Karusa leaves his chin hanging out and Whitez seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Karusa crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sean Whitez!
