Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sorgi Kartov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Verson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kartov comes to the cage accompanied by Coal Chamber - Loco. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verson checks a leg kick.
Kartov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Verson was well out of range. Poor timing from Kartov.
Verson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kartov throws a predictable looking body shot
and Verson counters with a shoot takedown. Kartov fights it but they end up in guard.

Verson won't allow Kartov to sweep him here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Verson works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Verson wants to work for an arm triangle but Kartov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Verson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Verson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kartov is just riding it out for now. Verson eventually gives up the hold.

Verson seems to be looking for submissions.
Kartov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Verson on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
