Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finley kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Welcome to the Jungle. Rua has chosen The Chase as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brad Finley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mario Rua! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Rua lands with a thumping leg kick.
Finley ducks under a wild hook from Rua. Rua throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rua connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Finley forces Rua back against the cage and clinches. Finley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Rua keeping moving, preventing Finley from controlling successfully. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rua pulls Finley in close to his closed guard and prevents Finley from doing any damage or advancing position. Finley wants to get up but he can't break Rua's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rua preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Finley with a flurry of punches that miss. Finley wants to stand but Rua is controlling his posture from full guard. Rua looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finley trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Finley clinches with his opponent.
Rua gets through Finley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Finley avoiding damage as Rua throws knees to the body.
Rua wants to stall.
Finley blocks the elbow strike.
Finley lands with a light punch inside. Rua comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Finley tries to throw a body punch but Rua avoids it by throwing Finley back against the cage. Finley works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Finley gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Finley postures up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rua seems keen to control Finley's posture. Finley stopping the sweep attempt from Rua. Rua avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua has control of Finley's left arm, preventing Finley from doing any damage.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mario Rua hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Finley moves into the clinch. Finley pulls guard effortlessly. Finley working a defensive guard here.

Finley punching from the bottom - just letting Rua know he's still in a fight. Rua is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Finley has a closed guard, preventing Rua from standing up.

Rua looking to sit in guard and control but Finley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rua is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Finley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Finley has Rua in his guard. Finley looking to control.
Finley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rua can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Finley being controlled here, momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finley managing to control the position. Rua trying to control but Finley is working from the bottom. Finley trying to keep a closed guard but Rua is proving a slippery customer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Finley moves into range and clinches up with Rua. Rua misses with an elbow strike.
Rua is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Finley is defending well for now. Rua misses with some punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rua content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Rua pushes off an throws an elbow but Finley leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Rua.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brad Finley will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rua is looking to clinch but Finley is avoiding it.
Rua throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Finley sees it coming and avoids it easily. Rua tries to keep at a distance but Finley has taken the fight into the clinch. Finley blocks an elbow strike. Finley takes an elbow to the temple. Rua scores with a hook to the body. Rua lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Rua lands an elbow inside. Finley breaks the clinch.
Finley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rua tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Finley is in Rua's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rua is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Finley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rua is keeping the position for now. Finley is looking to stand up but Rua won't let him. Rua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Finley is one step ahead there. Rua is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finley throws a big right hand that misses. Rua looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rua working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Finley. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rua holds on and takes a little breather. Finley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Rua is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rua is trying to keep Finley in close.
Finley wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. Rua looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Rua tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rua pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Rua lands an elbow that stopped Finley in his tracks for a moment. Finley is struggling to control the position. Finley jumps guard and drags Rua to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Rua trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rua loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Finley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. That's one minute gone in the round. Rua digs a right hand underneath Finley's ribcage. Finley let out a lung full of air as it connected. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Finley displaying some good clinch control by pressing Rua up against the cage. Rua misses with an elbow strike.
Rua throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Rua gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. A nice glancing elbow lands by Rua. A head punch on the inside from Rua fails to land. Rua scores with a shot to the side of Finley's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rua tries to throw a body punch but Finley avoids it by throwing Rua back against the cage. Finley lands an uppercut. Finley lands an uppercut. Finley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rua uses from the top position. Rua looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Finley is trying to control Rua's posture but Rua avoids it. Finley takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rua wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Finley, who protects the arm well. Finley gets back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Finley manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Rua being controlled here momentarily. Rua wants to control from the top but Finley keeps moving. Rua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rua gets to his feet. Finley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Finley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rua, pushing him back against the cage. Finley makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Rua fails to land. Finley goes for a takedown attempt but Rua pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Finley shoots in but no luck this time. Rua has closed the distance and engaged Finley in a clinch.
Rua lands a hook that snaps the head of Finley backwards. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Finley creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Rua tries to land knees in the clinch but Finley avoids the damage to the body. Finley lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Finley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mario Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
