Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Marchione (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Etunimi Sukunimi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Etunimi Sukunimi struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Etunimi Sukunimi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Marchione is predictable there
and Sukunimi counters with a head kick.
Marchione blocks a head kick by Sukunimi.
Sukunimi throws a sloppy head kick and Marchione moves out of range easily.
Marchione digs a good body shot into Sukunimi's ribs.
An inside leg kick from Marchione misses.
Sukunimi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marchione.
Marchione shoots in looking for a takedown. Sukunimi tries to sprawl out of it but Marchione keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Sukunimi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Marchione lands a nice short elbow.

Sukunimi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Marchione is able to avoid easily.
Marchione shoots in and bounces Sukunimi off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Sukunimi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sukunimi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marchione. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marchione is trying to control the action in half guard but Sukunimi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Marchione has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marchione ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sukunimi moves away.
No joy there for Marchione, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sukunimi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sukunimi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Marchione.
Marchione throws a right hand that Sukunimi ducks under and follows up with a left that Sukunimi also avoids with ease.
Sukunimi doesn't manage to clinch there - Marchione circles away.

Alex Marchione seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marchione lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Marchione looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sukunimi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sukunimi is rocked!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Marchione lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sukunimi is still in real trouble! Can Marchione finish him?

Marchione content to control rather than advance.
Marchione is nestled in close to Sukunimi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marchione maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Sukunimi could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Marchione has cracked it and Sukunimi is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Marchione!

A less than humble Alex Marchione misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
