Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danny Marino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marino comes into the arena with Cowboy Dan-Modest Mouse blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Battle! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marino drives through with a takedown into guard. Marino postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Battle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Marino is looking to work some ground and pound but Battle has wrist control. Marino passes Battle's left leg - he's now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Battle tries to get to full guard but Marino has control of the leg. Marino not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Battle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Marino. Marino has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marino working Battle over with strikes. Marino throwing shots but Battle is blocking nicely. Marino has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Marino lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
