Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Syrus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Taylor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Syrus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Taylor! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Syrus takes the fight into the clinch. Syrus tries to land knees in the clinch but Taylor avoids the damage to the body. Syrus pulls guard successfully.
Syrus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Syrus looking to control.
Taylor scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Taylor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Syrus could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Syrus looking for a guillotine here but Taylor defends easily.
Taylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Syrus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Syrus looking to control.
Syrus keeping full guard, as Taylor tries to pass. Syrus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Taylor looking to pass the guard. Syrus working for a triangle but Taylor defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Taylor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Taylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Syrus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Taylor passes easily into side control. Nice work. Syrus is trying to buck Taylor off. Syrus manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Syrus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Taylor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Taylor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Syrus thows a huge punch but Taylor dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Taylor moves into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor looking to hit a scissor sweep but Syrus is one step ahead there. Syrus wants to pass the guard but Taylor is keeping the position. Syrus is breathing heavily. Taylor looking for a guillotine here but Syrus defends easily.
Syrus decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Syrus closes the distance and clinches. Taylor doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Syrus pulls guard effortlessly. Taylor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Taylor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Syrus working for a triangle but Taylor defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Syrus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taylor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taylor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Syrus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Syrus looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Syrus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Taylor drops back looking for a leg! Syrus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Syrus manages to kick Taylor off! Taylor jumps back into Syrus's guard. Syrus wriggles free and stands up. Tyson Syrus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Syrus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Taylor moves away. Syrus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to avoid it but Syrus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Taylor to the ground. Taylor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Syrus looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taylor! Taylor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Syrus with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Taylor is trying desperately to improve position. Syrus sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Syrus stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Syrus moves into the clinch. Syrus jumps into guard, dragging Taylor to the mat.
Taylor lands a couple of decent looking shots. Syrus pushes Taylor off and gets back to his feet.
Syrus instigates a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Syrus dominated that round. That's time! Syrus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Syrus fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Taylor checks the leg kick nicely there.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Syrus ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Syrus no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Taylor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Syrus's guard. Taylor not landing any meaningful shots this time. Taylor is looking to advance position but Syrus won't allow it. Taylor missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Syrus pushes Taylor off looking to stand but Taylor dives back in and keeps control.
Taylor lands strikes from half guard. Syrus makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Syrus. Taylor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Taylor keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Syrus's head. Syrus controlling the position. Taylor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Taylor forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Syrus is trying to maintain the position but Taylor is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Syrus wants to get back to his feet.
Syrus makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Syrus. Taylor is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Syrus is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Syrus working for a triangle but Taylor defends it easily.
Syrus wriggles free and stands up. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Taylor crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Syrus - the referee stops the clock and Taylor gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Syrus. Taylor manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Syrus looks for a takedown but Taylor sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Syrus gets in close and instigates a clinch. Taylor tries a body shot but Syrus blocks it.
Taylor throws a head punch that misses. Taylor throws a punch but it's blocked by Syrus. Syrus is looking to control Taylor's arms but Taylor gets an underhook and turns him. Now Syrus has his back to the cage. Taylor lands a hook to the side of the head. Syrus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Taylor. No joy for Syrus on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Syrus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Syrus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Taylor is looking for a triangle but Syrus pushes his legs off easily.
Syrus tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. Taylor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Syrus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Taylor will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Syrus has picked Taylor up and slammed him! Taylor can't keep hold of the triangle and Syrus manages to pass to side control! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Syrus lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Taylor down.
Syrus is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Taylor's shoulder. That is not cool. Syrus has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Syrus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Syrus throws a head kick but Taylor moves out of range.
Syrus gets in close and instigates a clinch. Syrus jumps into guard, dragging Taylor to the mat.
Taylor throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Syrus works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Taylor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tyson Syrus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Syrus wants to stand but Taylor is controlling the position. Taylor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Syrus wants to stand up but Taylor is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Syrus trying to keep a closed guard but Taylor is proving a slippery customer.
Taylor prevents Syrus from getting back to his feet. Taylor postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Syrus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Syrus tries to land a leg kick but Taylor saw it coming and moves away.
Syrus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Taylor to the mat! Taylor manages to get full guard. Taylor is working an open guard so Syrus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Taylor swats away the attempt to clinch by Syrus. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Syrus drives through with a takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Taylor is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Syrus rolls with it to try and escape but Taylor cranks on the arm and Syrus is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
