PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quik Yin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dai Vernon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yin comes to the cage accompanied by I Got A Feeling (lol :P). Vernon has chosen Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quik Yin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dai Vernon!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vernon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yin's head backwards.
Yin throws a sloppy body shot
and Vernon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Yin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vernon manages to avoid it.
Yin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vernon as he avoids it easily.
Vernon lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Yin throws a hook but Vernon blocks it.
Nice defenses there by Yin.
Vernon slips a jab from Yin.
Vernon has a takedown stuffed.
Vernon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Vernon looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Yin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vernon is fending him off so far but Yin persists. Nope, Vernon circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quik Yin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yin is breathing heavily.
Vernon scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vernon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Vernon tries to clinch but Yin is having none of it.

Vernon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Vernon performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
It looks like Vernon might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Vernon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Yin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Vernon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vernon trying to control the action but Yin is working from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yin taking some punishment here, with Vernon in his half guard.
Yin wants to get back to full guard.
Vernon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Dai Vernon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Vernon throws a hook to the side of Yin's head but Yin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dai Vernon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yin tests Vernon's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice sprawl there from Yin as Vernon shoots in.
Vernon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yin but Yin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vernon connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yin's hands.
Yin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vernon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vernon lands a glancing blow to the side of Yin's head.
Vernon misses with a straight left.
Yin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vernon throws out the jab.
Vernon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Vernon misses the shot to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A solid leg kick lands there for Vernon.
Yin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Yin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Vernon shoots in but no luck this time.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vernon lands with a right hand.
Vernon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yin. That did some damage!
Vernon connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Vernon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vernon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Yin takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
A left and a right from Vernon both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Quik Yin has been cut.
Vernon scores with a jab. Yin acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dai Vernon dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Quik Yin's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Vernon scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Vernon scores with a sloppy right hand. Yin should have avoided that one.
Yin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vernon finds it's way round the side to connect with Yin's head.


Yin is rocked!
Yin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Oh Yin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yin takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vernon fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Vernon engages and cracks Yin with a massive lead left hook - Yin tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Vernon is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dai Vernon!
After the big win, Dai Vernon made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Hellbent, Inc.™ and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
