Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Basaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin shoots in for a takedown but Basaev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Franklin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Basaev avoids it really well and circles away.
Franklin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Basaev as he avoids it easily.
Shamil Basaev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Franklin.
Basaev misses with a wild combination.
Basaev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Basaev wants it to stay on the feet.
Franklin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Basaev circles away.
Franklin walks into a stiff left hand from Basaev.
Basaev fails to land with a series of punches.
Franklin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Basaev's waist but Basaev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Franklin off to one side.
Franklin looks to throw the jab but Basaev is out of range.
Basaev throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Franklin shoots in for a double leg but Basaev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Basaev ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Franklin looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Basaev punishes Franklin's body with a nice straight punch.
Basaev jabs Franklin right on the nose. Franklin blinks but takes it well.
It looks like Josh Franklin has been cut.
Basaev drops Franklin with a beautiful combination! Franklin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Basaev is looking for the KO!
Franklin is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Basaev plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Franklin swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Franklin face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Shamil Basaev!
