Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between jk o (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jere Sallinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jere Sallinen!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

o shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than o was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Sallinen is squirming around, avoiding o's attempts to control the action.
o with the ground and pound from mount.
o can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sallinen is looking to escape.
Sallinen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sallinen really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, o cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sallinen is trying desperately to improve position.
Sallinen tries to hold on but o pushes him away.
o fails to take his opponent's back.
Sallinen really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
o avoids the attempt from Sallinen to control.
o cracks Sallinen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
o controlling his opponent.
Sallinen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Sallinen missing with punches from the bottom.
Sallinen is looking to improve his position.

Sallinen kicks off o and gets to his feet.
Sallinen looks gassed!
o tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sallinen swats him away and circles back towards the center.

No luck for o with that takedown attempt.
o shoots in and drives through. Sallinen sprawls well.
o shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sallinen pinned against the cage. Sallinen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jk o. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sallinen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and o counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sallinen's guard now.
Sallinen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

o stands up from Sallinen's guard - o perhaps looking for a knockout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A slapping body kick lands there for o.

Sallinen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Sallinen lands with a punch from half guard.
o is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sallinen passes to side control.
You can see the frustration on o's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
o is looking for a sweep.
Sallinen tries to move to full mount but o actually manages to regain half guard.
Sallinen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
o is looking to control Sallinen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can o avoid being mounted?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
o wants to control but Sallinen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
o is trying to stand back up but Sallinen is controlling him
Sallinen is keen to just control but o is a slippery customer.
Sallinen working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on o's thigh. o counters though and makes it back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Sallinen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
o is looking to improve his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Jere Sallinen will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sallinen tries to close the distance and clinch but o swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
o lands a head kick!
Sallinen blocks a head kick by o.
jk o is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sallinen has his takedown stuffed
and o makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
o lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
o throws a quick inside leg kick.
o gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sallinen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sallinen wants to take a breather but o is having none of it.

Sallinen is trying to work for a kimura but o is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sallinen tries to pass the half guard into mount. o knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jere Sallinen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sallinen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for o!
o tries to hold on but Sallinen postures up.
o is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
o wants to control but Sallinen is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
o knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sallinen on the ground.
o working to try and regain half guard.
Sallinen won't let o get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Sallinen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, o has worked his arm free - good work by o!
o is looking for a sweep.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
o is working hard here to advance position.
o struggling a bit here.
Sallinen trying to control the position but o is working away.
o tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sallinen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
o can't do much from the bottom here.
o sneaks back into half guard.
o wants to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

o closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sallinen to the mat! Sallinen manages to get full guard.

o wants to control from the top but Sallinen keeps moving.
o pushes down on Sallinen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
o is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
o trying to mount his opponent but Sallinen defends it.
Sallinen is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute o jumps into side control!
o trying to control the position but Sallinen is working away.
o has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Sallinen!

Sallinen is staying active underneath o, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sallinen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but o pulls his head out easily.
Sallinen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of o's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take o's back!
o has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Sallinen looking to break o's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. o remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sallinen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

o tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
o is wriggling around trying to escape.
o wants to control but Sallinen is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that jk o will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Sallinen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? o is fending him off so far but Sallinen persists. Nope, o circles away and we're back to standing.

o has closed the distance and engaged Sallinen in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

o manages to break the clinch.

o looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sallinen!
o putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
o tries to control but Sallinen wriggling away.
o content just to control the position here.

o is working for a guillotine from mount but Sallinen frees his head quite easily.

Sallinen is squirming around, avoiding o's attempts to control the action.
Sallinen bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Sallinen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sallinen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sallinen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
o utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sallinen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
o wants to stand but Sallinen is controlling the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

o working for a triangle but Sallinen defends it easily.

jk o has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jere Sallinen.

o is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Sallinen throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Sallinen gets underhooks to prevent o's takedown attempt.
o misses with a hook from the clinch.
o tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sallinen smiles and moves away.

and o holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

o looking to pass the guard.

Sallinen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sallinen looking to hit a scissor sweep but o is one step ahead there.
Sallinen controlling the position.
o won't allow Sallinen to sweep him here.

Sallinen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! o escapes and throws Sallinen's legs to the side, diving into side control!
o in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Sallinen can't do much from the bottom here.
Sallinen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Sallinen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Sallinen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

I would just about give that final round to Jere Sallinen.
I think Sallinen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
