Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Borisov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sero Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borisov's entrance music is Blunt - The Iron Maiden. A fine choice. Kim has chosen CANON in D Korean Version (with gayageum) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Borisov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sero Kim!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borisov staying out of range there.
Kim throws out a leg kick but Borisov moves out of range and Kim only half commits.
Borisov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Borisov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kim just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Borisov. Kim does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kim throws a combination. Borisov tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Borisov looks to throw the jab but Kim is out of range.

Borisov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kim looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kim tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Borisov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kim down.
You can see the frustration on Kim's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Borisov throws a strike aimed at the side of Kim's head but Kim avoids it well.
Kim is holding Borisov down, trying to stall.
Kim is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Borisov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Borisov is working away from the top position though.
Kim is staying active underneath Borisov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Borisov prevents Kim from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Borisov wants to take a breather but Kim is having none of it.
Borisov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kim moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Borisov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kim looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Borisov postures up in Kim's guard and throws a big left but Kim blocks it.

Borisov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Borisov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Borisov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kim's head.
Kim lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Borisov!
Borisov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Borisov is trying to escape the mount.
Kim thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Kim lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Borisov hang on?

Kim prevents Borisov from getting the reversal.

Borisov sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Borisov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kim is working away from the top position though.

Kim lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Borisov wants to control but Kim is keeping busy and won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Borisov will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kim wants to control but Borisov postures up.
Borisov tries to score with some ground and pound. Kim controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kim is trying to control Borisov's posture but Borisov avoids it.
Borisov throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Kim tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kim gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Borisov is thwarting Kim's attempts to control the position.
Borisov is taking a breather. Kim says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Borisov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Borisov passes to full mount!
Kim really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Borisov throws some wild stikes that Kim manages to avoid easily.
Borisov punching from mount but Kim doing a good job of avoiding damage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Borisov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kim is working to get back to half guard.
Borisov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Kim is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kim tries to lock up and control but Borisov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Borisov putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Borisov is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kim can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Borisov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kim doesn't seem bothered though.

Kim scores with the left hand. Borisov knows he should have avoided that one.

Kim pushes Borisov up against the cage in a clinch.
Borisov wants a takedown but no success here.
Borisov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kim pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kim ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Borisov moves away.
Borisov shoots in but Kim avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Borisov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Borisov shoots in looking for a takedown but Kim manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Borisov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kim ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Borisov moves away.
Kim throws a sloppy head kick and Borisov moves out of range easily.
Kim jabs Borisov to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ivan Borisov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Kim throws a sloppy head kick and Borisov moves out of range easily.
Kim displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Borisov throws out the jab.
Borisov keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Borisov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kim's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kim duly obliges.
Kim keeps Borisov at a distance using the push kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kim lands a big head kick that sends Borisov tumbling to the mat! Kim takes a step backwards and waves Borisov back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Borisov is rocked!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kim.
Oh Borisov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kim drops Borisov with a naaaaasty hook - Borisov is in real trouble here! Kim dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sero Kim!
