Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ikuhisa Minowa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikuhisa Minowa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikuhisa Minowa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Scott! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Minowa fails with a takedown attempt. Minowa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away. Minowa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott. Minowa tries to move into range but Scott moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Scott looks to score with a jab to the body but Minowa is just out of range. Scott misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Minowa.
Minowa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Scott is in trouble now - Minowa has advanced to mount! Minowa is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Scott can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Minowa jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Scott is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Scott and Minowa has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

You can see the frustration on Scott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Scott gets back to half guard. Minowa is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Minowa is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Minowa wants to pass the guard but Scott is defending well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ikuhisa Minowa. Minowa drives through with a takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Scott trying to keep a closed guard but Minowa is proving a slippery customer.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Scott is keen to just control but Minowa is a slippery customer. Scott tries to pass the half guard into mount. Minowa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Minowa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Scott not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Scott looking to control but Minowa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Scott has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Minowa is looking to regain half guard here but Scott keeps moving and retains side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scott wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Minowa, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Minowa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard. Minowa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Scott trying to control the position.
