Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Deathstar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Brusko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andreas Deathstar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Brusko! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brusko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Brusko looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Deathstar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Brusko drops back looking for a leg! Deathstar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deathstar manages to kick Brusko off! Brusko jumps back into Deathstar's guard. Deathstar is trying to control the position but Brusko postures up. Deathstar trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Deathstar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Deathstar working a defensive guard here.
Deathstar is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Deathstar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Deathstar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brusko's head. Deathstar has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Deathstar is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brusko can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Deathstar misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brusko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Deathstar throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Brusko manages to reverse the position and now he's in Deathstar's guard. Nice work there by Brusko.
Brusko looking to pass the guard. Brusko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brusko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Brusko tries to free his leg and advance position but Deathstar is retaining full guard. Brusko slips nicely into half guard. Brusko seems to be looking for submissions.
Deathstar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Brusko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Deathstar defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brusko uses his free foot to push down on Deathstar's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Deathstar. Brusko jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Deathstar is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Deathstar and Brusko has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Deathstar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Brusko is looking for a kimura but Deathstar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brusko to get the leverage. Deathstar trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deathstar is trying to get back to full guard. Deathstar trying to control from the bottom.
Brusko trying to mount his opponent but Deathstar defends it. Deathstar looking for submissions off his back. Deathstar is looking for a sweep. Brusko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Deathstar doesn't succeed with the takedown so Brusko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brusko wants to control from the top but Deathstar keeps moving. Deathstar striking off his back but it's not causing Brusko any problems. Deathstar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brusko manages to get himself to full guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Deathstar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Deathstar drops back looking for a leg! Brusko is in trouble here! Brusko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Brusko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Deathstar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Deathstar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Deathstar is posturing up here but Brusko has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Deathstar tries to roll out but it's too tight and Deathstar has to tap! Slick submission there by Brusko!
