Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mick Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Quinton Palmer was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Dundee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quinton Palmer! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palmer lands a jab to Dundee's midsection. Palmer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dundee paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dundee pivots, looking for a leg kick but Palmer is out of range and Dundee settles back down. Dundee throws a front kick aimed at Palmer's knee but Palmer avoids it well. Palmer checks the leg kick. Palmer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Dundee fails with a takedown attempt. Palmer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Dundee swats away the attempt to clinch by Palmer. Palmer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Palmer missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dundee is pressing down on Palmer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Palmer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dundee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Palmer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dundee keeping moving, preventing Palmer from controlling successfully. Palmer looking to pass the guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Palmer fails to land with a series of punches.

Dundee wants to stand but Palmer is controlling his posture from full guard. Palmer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dundee is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Palmer. Palmer is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Dundee looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Palmer manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Dundee makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dundee. Dundee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dundee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Palmer! Dundee fails to move to back control. Palmer defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dundee. Palmer tries to reverse the position but Dundee maintains control. Palmer is trying to reverse the position but instead Dundee has taken his back - oops! Palmer breaks Dundee's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Palmer pushing down on Dundee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Palmer passes to side control. Palmer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Palmer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dundee is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palmer goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dundee rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Palmer's guard! Nice work there by Dundee! Palmer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dundee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Palmer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dundee's back instead. Palmer is persistently looking for the submission but Dundee is defending it well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palmer working for the choke. Dundee turns into Palmer and is now in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quinton Palmer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Palmer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dundee swats him away and circles back towards the center. Palmer tries to bum rush Dundee with a series of wild strikes but Dundee uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dundee throws a sloppy head kick and Palmer moves out of range easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Palmer.

Palmer lands a jab to the head.
Palmer tries to clinch but Dundee is having none of it. The fight moves into the clinch position. Palmer swings wildly with an uppercut but Dundee uses good head movement to avoid it. Dundee gets underhooks to prevent Palmer's takedown attempt.
Dundee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Palmer smiles and moves away.
Palmer closes the distance and clinches. Palmer is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. A short right from Palmer. Palmer misses with a short punch on the inside. Palmer breaks the clinch.
Palmer tries to close the distance and clinch but Dundee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Palmer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Palmer is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dundee drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Palmer is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Palmer is staying active underneath Dundee, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dundee is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Dundee has control of Palmer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Palmer regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Palmer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Palmer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dundee is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Palmer has his hands clasped together but Dundee extends an breaks Palmer's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Dundee.
