3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aiden Rivers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, JP Pinsent! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rivers lands in his opponent's guard. Rivers looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Pinsent has his foot on Rivers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rivers works his way back into a safe position though. Rivers drops back looking for a leg! Pinsent is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pinsent manages to kick Rivers off! Rivers jumps back into Pinsent's guard. Pinsent looking for a guillotine here but Rivers defends easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rivers wants to pass the guard but Pinsent is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pinsent looking for a guillotine here but Rivers defends easily.
Pinsent looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rivers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pinsent manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rivers has Pinsent in his guard. Pinsent avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinsent tries to free his leg and advance position but Rivers is retaining full guard. Rivers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pinsent is one step ahead there. Pinsent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rivers looking for a sweep. Not yet Rivers, not yet. Pinsent trying to control but Rivers is working from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Rivers tries to keep at a distance but Pinsent has taken the fight into the clinch.

Pinsent is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rivers is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pinsent to the mat. Pinsent regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Rivers is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rivers tries to free his leg and advance position but Pinsent is retaining full guard. Rivers is working hard here to advance position. Pinsent can't keep his opponent in guard - Rivers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Rivers is looking to pass Pinsent's guard but actually Pinsent recovers to full guard. Rivers looking to pass the guard. Pinsent trying to keep a closed guard but Rivers is proving a slippery customer.

Rivers manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rivers is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Pinsent is forced to tap! Great finish!
