The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fan misses with an uppercut. Bot saw that one coming. Bot scores with a nice head shot. Jun Fan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fan throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bot counters with a lovely shot to the body. Fan misses with a left hand and Bot counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bot circles away. Bot connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fan momentarily.
Fan misses with a lunging right hand
and Bot counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bot displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fan. Bot leaves Fan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jun Fan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Fan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
This has been an exciting period of action! Fan in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bot tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Fan!
