Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Ballantine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerry Cho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerry Cho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wayne Ballantine!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ballantine lands with an uppercut that bounces Cho off the cage and back into range.
Cho lands a really nice looking cross but Ballantine seems unphased.
Cho scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Wayne Ballantine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ballantine is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ballantine throws a shot from downtown. Cho moves away and avoids it.
Cho thuds his right hand into Ballantine's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ballantine drives through and clinches with Cho against the cage.

Ballantine has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cho clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Ballantine doesn't have the hooks in and Cho manages to turn into his guard.

Ballantine might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Ballantine tries to close the distance and clinch but Cho swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ballantine has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Cho lands with a nice combination. Ballantine backs away looking to recover.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Jerry Cho will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ballantine has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cho avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ballantine is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cho can't fight it off and eventually Ballantine manages to take the fight to the floor. Cho looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Cho counters with a left and a right that stings Ballantine.
Donk. Ballantine catches Cho right on the button with a cross.
Cho pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ballantine back to the cage. Cho follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Wayne Ballantine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Cho avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Cho looks to land a combination but Ballantine avoids it well.
