Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Rojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Crews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Crews's choice of entrance music: Born on the FM Waves - Against Me. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dario Crews! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rojo throws a right hand that Crews ducks under and follows up with a left that Crews also avoids with ease. Crews connects with the punch. Crews scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rojo in his tracks. Rojo throws out a loose jab but Crews uses good head movement to avoid it. Crews changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Rojo slips a jab from Crews. Some wild striking there from Rojo.
Nice uppercut there from Crews. Crews staying out of range there. This has been an exciting period of action! Crews buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rojo uses from the top position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Crews is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Let's hope that Crews has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Crews tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rojo eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Crews slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Crews looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Crews manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rojo manages to get himself to full guard.

Rojo wants to control from the top but Crews keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Crews looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Crews manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rojo manages to get himself to full guard.

Crews jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rojo walks away with a smile on his face. Crews gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rojo misses with a few strikes there.

Rojo misses with a looping right. Rojo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Crews in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Crews lands with a cross. Crews lands a jab to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by Crews. Rojo looks to throw the jab but Crews is out of range. Crews pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rojo back to the cage. Crews follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Rojo throws a lazy uppercut
and Crews makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Miguel Rojo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crews lands a jab to Rojo's midsection. Crews lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rojo takes a step back to recover. An inside leg kick lands from Crews. Rojo misses with a right hand and Crews counters with a lovely straight right hand! Crews swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rojo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crews thuds a left hand into Rojo's body. Crews takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Crews has closed the distance and engaged Rojo in a clinch.

Crews has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Crews is trying to pull guard but Rojo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Miguel Rojo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dario Crews. Crews jumps guard and drags Rojo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Crews seems keen to control Rojo's posture. Rojo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Crews works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rojo preventing the sweep. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rojo throws an elbow that misses. Crews uses the momentum to reverse the position. Dario Crews showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! Dario Crews comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Crews has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
