Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Kirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michaels is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Popeda - Raakaa voimaa. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Kirk!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean Michaels!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirk throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Sean Michaels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kirk throws a wild body kick that Michaels sees coming a mile off.
Kirk uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Michaels has time to react.

Kirk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Kirk.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kirk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
