Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haral Dir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Power!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dir throws a right and a left that both miss.
Power tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Power cracks the inside of Dir's front leg.
Power is looking to clinch but Dir is avoiding it.
Power tries to clinch but Dir moves away

and Dir counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Power's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dir tries to free his leg and advance position but Power is retaining full guard.
Dir missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dir throwing strikes from guard but Power blocks nicely.
Dir not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dir working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Power works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dir drops an elbow to the side of Power's head.
Power tries to get to full guard but Dir has control of the leg.

Dir decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Horrible takedown by Dir or perhaps it was just good defense by Power which made him look bad.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dir is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dir slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Power has momentary wrist control but Dir slips an elbow through the middle.

Dir scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Power to see if he's OK.

Dir lands some shots froms side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dir connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Power some visible discomfort.
Power tries to bench press Dir off him but Dir keeps the position.
Dir cracks Power with a big right hand but Power just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haral Dir dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dir is defended easily by Power.

Dir closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dir lands in his opponent's guard.

Power really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Power wants to clinch up but Dir keeps it at a distance.

Power is rocked!
Dir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Power is still in real trouble! Can Dir finish him?

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dir has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Power takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dir lands a big shot to the head and Power winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
