Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Gonza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Pipinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pipinger comes into a darkened arena with his song building. On Wings of Integrity- Mychildren Mybride kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Gonza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Pipinger! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pipinger closes the distance and clinches up with Gonza, looking for a takedown. Pipinger pushes Gonza against the cage but Gonza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gonza throws a body kick that misses. Pipinger shoots in and bounces Gonza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gonza controls Pipinger momentarily but Pipinger frees himself. Pipinger trying to control but Gonza is working from the bottom. Pipinger postures up.
Pipinger in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gonza keeping full guard, as Pipinger tries to pass. Pipinger wants to control from the top but Gonza keeps moving. Pipinger postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pipinger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonza swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pipinger looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pipinger takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gonza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pipinger as he avoids it easily. Jab from Gonza. Gonza throws a body kick that misses. Gonza lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gonza is looking to clinch. Gonza shoots for a double leg takedown but Pipinger sprawls well. He's pushed Gonza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gonza drives through and clinches with Pipinger against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pipinger drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gonza gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gonza is trying to break free. Gonza wants to break the clinch but can't.

Gonza with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gonza avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gonza scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Gonza shoots in and drives through. Pipinger sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Gonza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gonza shoots for a takedown but Pipinger saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pipinger showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gonza.
Gonza looks for the body kick but Pipinger saw that one coming. Gonza defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pipinger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pipinger fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gonza sprawls well initially but Pipinger persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gonza keeps control of the position for the meantime. Gonza wants to get back to full guard. Pipinger is thwarting Gonza's attempts to control the position. Gonza makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gonza. Gonza tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pipinger throwing strikes from guard but Gonza blocks nicely. Pipinger trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonza controls Pipinger momentarily but Pipinger frees himself. Pipinger won't allow Gonza to sweep him here. Pipinger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pipinger advances position into side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that David Gonza will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pipinger shoots in looking for a takedown. Gonza tries to sprawl out of it but Pipinger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gonza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gonza throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. David Gonza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gonza throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gonza has his takedown stuffed and Pipinger counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pipinger. Gonza avoiding damage.

David Gonza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. An inside leg kick lands from Gonza. Gonza works over Pipinger's head and body with a nice combination. Good standup being displayed there by Gonza as he connects with a hook. Pipinger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gonza's half guard. Pipinger trying to pass the guard but Gonza defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonza is looking for a sweep. Pipinger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gonza gets back to full guard.

Pipinger drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gonza looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gonza looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gonza! Pipinger is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gonza lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pipinger stops Gonza from passing to mount. Pipinger is looking for a sweep. Gonza tries to move to mount but Pipinger blocks the move with his legs. Gonza trying to control the action but Pipinger is working from the bottom. Pipinger is looking to regain half guard here but Gonza keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonza wants to control but Pipinger is keeping him busy. Pipinger is looking for a sweep. Pipinger manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Gonza is looking to control Pipinger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gonza avoid being mounted? Gonza is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Pipinger is tapping! Great win for Gonza!
