Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Forlan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stymae Stinson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Forlan misses with a series of wild punches.
Forlan tries to close the distance and clinch but Stinson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Forlan looks to land a combination but Stinson avoids it well. Forlan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stinson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Forlan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stinson throws a leg kick but Forlan moved away. Stinson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Forlan! Stinson wants to finish this one by submission but Forlan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Stinson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stinson lands a nice shot to the head. Stinson punching from mount but Forlan doing a good job of avoiding damage.

It looks like Diego Forlan has been cut. Stinson controlling from the full mount. Stinson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Stinson looking to finish Forlan with some ground and pound. This is bad for Forlan!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stinson content just to control the position here. Forlan in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Forlan is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stinson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Forlan wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stinson.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stinson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Forlan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Stinson controlling his opponent. BOOM! Stinson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stinson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Stinson looking for a guillotine from mount but Forlan is having none of it. Stinson controlling from the full mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stinson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stymae Stinson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Diego Forlan's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Stinson scores with a sloppy right hand. Forlan should have avoided that one. Stinson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Forlan is struggling to control the position. Stinson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Forlan can't fight it off and eventually Stinson manages to take the fight to the floor. Forlan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Forlan keeping moving, preventing Stinson from controlling successfully. Forlan is wriggling around but Stinson manages to pass to half guard.
Stinson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Forlan is refusing to be controlled, as Stinson sits in half guard.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Stymae Stinson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Stinson feints and then cracks Forlan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Forlan down. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Forlan is looking to clinch but Stinson is avoiding it.
Stinson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Stinson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Forlan to the ground. Stinson is now in Forlan's guard. Stinson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Stinson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stinson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Forlan's guard. Stinson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Stinson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Stinson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stinson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Stinson trying to control but Forlan is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stinson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Forlan, up you get! Stinson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Forlan quickly recovers to half guard. Stinson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Stinson moves into full mount! Forlan won't be happy about that! Stymae Stinson has got the better of the ground game so far. Stinson content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Stinson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stymae Stinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Diego Forlan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Forlan wants to clinch up but Stinson keeps it at a distance. Stinson misses with a body shot.
Forlan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Stinson ducks right into an uppercut from Forlan. Diego Forlan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Forlan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stinson drives through and clinches with Forlan against the cage.
Stinson tries to score a body lock takedown but Forlan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Forlan tries to break free but Stinson pushes him back against the cage. Stinson has hold of one of Forlan's legs. Forlan is fighting the takedown attempt but Stinson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Stinson gets to his feet - Forlan follows without any prompting. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stinson feints and as Forlan raises his hands in defense, Stinson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stinson wants to control from the top but Forlan keeps moving. Forlan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stinson on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stinson stands up and waves to Forlan to follow him. Stinson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Forlan sprawls well initially but Stinson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Stinson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Stinson moves nicely into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stinson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Forlan some visible discomfort.
Stinson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Forlan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stinson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Forlan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stinson trying to control the position but Forlan is working away. Stinson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Forlan is being controlled here. Diego Forlan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Stinson advances nicely into full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stinson dominating with strikes here. Stinson lands a nice shot to the head. Stinson content just to control the position here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stinson has hold of Forlan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Forlan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Stinson working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Forlan looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Stinson! Submission of the night perhaps?
