The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayate throws a leg kick but Pumperknickle checks it.
Tatsuyo Hayate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hayate throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hayate walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pumperknickle checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hayate darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pumperknickle throws a right hand that misses
and Hayate counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pumperknickle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hayate with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hayate moves into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A close round but Tatsuyo Hayate will probably get the nod.

That kick from Hayate tenderised Pumperknickle's leg. Pumperknickle is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Hayate counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pumperknickle thinking.
Tatsuyo Hayate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pumperknickle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hayate sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Hayate counters with a good low kick that Pumperknickle was not able to check.
Hayate feints and then cracks Pumperknickle's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pumperknickle down.

Hayate sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pumperknickle connects with a nice short shot to Hayate's temple.

I would just about give that final round to Tatsuyo Hayate.
I've got Hayate winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
