Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Den Burlaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quentin Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Den Burlaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Quentin Costa!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Burlaka misses with a takedown attempt
and Costa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Burlaka thinking.
Burlaka fails with the takedown

and Costa counters with a shoot takedown. Burlaka fights it but they end up in guard.
Costa working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Costa's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Costa engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Burlaka looking to hit a scissor sweep but Costa is one step ahead there.
Costa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Costa postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burlaka can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Costa controls the pace.

Quentin Costa has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Costa clinches up with Burlaka and pushes him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Costa has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Burlaka is trying to keep an underhook but Costa manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Costa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Costa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burlaka with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Costa lands a nice short elbow.


Burlaka is rocked!
Costa stalling.
Oh Burlaka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Burlaka has a hand on Costa's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Costa takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Costa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Costa unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Burlaka wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Costa celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quentin Costa!
