The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins shoots for a takedown but Cruz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hopkins shoots and misses
and Cruz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hopkins!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cruz wants to finish this one by submission but Hopkins is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cruz.
Hopkins is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cruz throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Hopkins has his hands clasped together but Cruz breaks the hold and Hopkins is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Cruz!
