Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Hale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bonhomme Sept Heures! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sept Heures with a poor takedown and Hale counters by clinching up. Sept Heures is defending well against a takedown attempt. Sept Heures with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Come on Hale - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Hale lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Sept Heures. Sept Heures breaks from the clinch.
Sept Heures on the wrong end of a nice jab. Hale lands a leg kick that knocks Sept Heures off balance momentarily. Sept Heures tries to bum rush Hale with a series of wild strikes but Hale uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sept Heures fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hale avoids it really well and circles away. Sept Heures chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hale can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sept Heures shoots for a double leg takedown but Hale sprawls well. He's pushed Sept Heures's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Justin Hale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bonhomme Sept Heures. Sept Heures avoids a punch combination nicely.

Sept Heures looks gassed! Hale looks to land a combination but Sept Heures avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hale rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sept Heures moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hale moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Hale is looking to score with low kicks. Sept Heures closes the distance and clinches up with Hale, looking for a takedown. Sept Heures pushes Hale against the cage but Hale circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hale showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sept Heures.

Danga de danga de dang - Hale scores with a four punch combination! A head kick misses from Sept Heures. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sept Heures has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hale. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hale.
Hale looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hale is keen to just control but Sept Heures is a slippery customer. Sept Heures wants to improve his position but Hale is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sept Heures is staying active underneath Hale, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hale connects with a nice short shot to Sept Heures's temple. Hale looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hale passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sept Heures! Sept Heures defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hale. Sept Heures is trying desperately to improve position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hale jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sept Heures is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sept Heures and Hale has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sept Heures gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Hale stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Hale thumps Sept Heures with a low kick. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Sept Heures fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hale lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sept Heures throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hale. Sept Heures rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hale moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hale throws a series of punches but Sept Heures avoids them all with ease. Sept Heures dives in and grabs Hale's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hale pushes down on Sept Heures's head and hops out. Sept Heures misses with a few strikes there.
This has been an exciting period of action! That kick from Hale tenderised Sept Heures's leg. Sept Heures is trying to keep his angry face on. A head kick misses from Sept Heures. Hale misses with the combination.
Hale looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sept Heures! Hale pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hale is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sept Heures to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sept Heures shrugs it off. Hale has control of Sept Heures's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sept Heures regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Hale dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Sept Heures throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hale's head.
It looks like Justin Hale has been cut. Sept Heures fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sept Heures shoots in and gets a takedown into Hale's guard. Hale thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Sept Heures postures up.
Hale managing to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hale working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sept Heures doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sept Heures manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sept Heures stands up and waves to Hale to follow him. Sept Heures is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sept Heures lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sept Heures. Hale tries to clinch but Sept Heures moves out of range. Justin Hale is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A nice combination there by Hale.
Sept Heures throws a head kick that misses. Hale tries to close the distance and clinch but Sept Heures swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sept Heures misses with a jab, cross combination.

Sept Heures looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hale is fending him off so far but Sept Heures persists. Nope, Hale circles away and we're back to standing. Hale stalks Sept Heures and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sept Heures's face. Sept Heures staggers backwards, shaken. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hale closes the distance and pushes Sept Heures back into the cage. Hale pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hale misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hale explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hale tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Sept Heures takes one to the chin there. Hale fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sept Heures has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A solid leg kick lands there for Hale.
Sept Heures changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hale tries to avoid it but Sept Heures manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hale to the ground. Hale escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hale misses with a kick to the body.
Hale scores with a one two! Sept Heures had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Sept Heures takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hale takes a swing at Sept Heures's ribcage but misses. Hale clinches up against the cage. Hale wants to stall.
Sept Heures tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hale smiles and moves away.
Bonhomme Sept Heures seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hale throws a head kick but Sept Heures moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sept Heures is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hale's half guard. Hale has his hands clasped together around Sept Heures's back. He's all about the action. Sept Heures is keen to just control but Hale is a slippery customer. Sept Heures throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are battling for position here. Hale manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hale wants to sweep but no luck. Sept Heures sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hale wants to stand up but Sept Heures is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hale bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sept Heures's guard. Hale's corner is telling him to maintain position. Justin Hale overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sept Heures dives in and grabs Hale's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hale pushes down on Sept Heures's head and hops out. Hale clinches with his opponent.

Sept Heures shoots in looking for a takedown. Hale tries to sprawl out of it but Sept Heures keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hale manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sept Heures misses with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Hale dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Justin Hale's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Sept Heures gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hale to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hale stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hale avoids the head kick by Sept Heures.

Sept Heures takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sept Heures lands with a slapping head kick. Sept Heures throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hale's head. Sept Heures shoots in but Hale avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hale lands with a slapping head kick.

Hale cracks Sept Heures with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Sept Heures misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hale displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sept Heures. Hale moves into the clinch. Hale swings wildly with an uppercut but Sept Heures uses good head movement to avoid it. Hale successfully pulls guard.
Sept Heures wants to get up but he can't break Hale's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sept Heures drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hale looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hale looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hale! Sept Heures gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sept Heures holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hale tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hale looking to control but Sept Heures is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hale throws some wild stikes that Sept Heures manages to avoid easily.
Sept Heures tries to lock up and control but Hale gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hale trying to control but Sept Heures is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hale with a couple of short strikes. Hale will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sept Heures really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hale moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sept Heures has worked his arm free - good work by Sept Heures!

Hale tries for a kimura but Sept Heures is defending well. Hale wants to take a breather but Sept Heures manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hale.
