Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luis Felipe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Maniche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luis Felipe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Maniche!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maniche misses with a few strikes there.
Felipe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maniche scores with a kick to the body.

Felipe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maniche looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Felipe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Maniche is trying to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maniche rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Felipe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Felipe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maniche sprawls well. Maniche wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Felipe gets slowly back to his feet.

Felipe is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Maniche has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Maniche!

Maniche fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Felipe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Felipe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Felipe there as he acknowledges the shot.
Maniche throws a series of punches but Felipe moves out of range.
Maniche misses with a low kick.
No joy there for Maniche, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sam Maniche showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Felipe closes the distance and clinches up with Maniche, looking for a takedown. Felipe pushes Maniche against the cage but Maniche circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Felipe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Maniche manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Felipe has Maniche in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Felipe counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Maniche lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Felipe circles away quickly and effectively.
Felipe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maniche's waist but Maniche gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Felipe off to one side.
Felipe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maniche defends it nicely.
