The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Borisov!
McLay with a poor takedown
and Borisov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McLay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Borisov.
Borisov throws a jab when McLay was well out of range.
A big left from Borisov misses.
McLay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Borisov's waist but Borisov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McLay off to one side.

Daley Borisov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Borisov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Daley Borisov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis McLay.

Borisov throws a lazy right hand but McLay sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Borisov is trying to pull guard but McLay has him pressed against the cage.

McLay drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McLay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Borisov fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McLay has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Borisov regains guard immediately.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Borisov is trying to keep McLay in close.
McLay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Borisov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McLay has managed to get both his arms back between Borisov's legs - danger averted.
Borisov has his foot on McLay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McLay works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
McLay throws a big elbow that misses.

Borisov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McLay pulls his head out easily.
McLay is thwarting Borisov's attempts to control the position.
Borisov makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Borisov.
McLay is sitting in close to Borisov's body. Borisov has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! McLay is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, McLay is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Borisov.
