Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phil Deimon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silas Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopkins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. She Ain't You by: Chris Brown kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Deimon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silas Hopkins! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopkins falls off balance throwing a combination
and Deimon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hopkins's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hopkins keeping moving, preventing Deimon from controlling successfully. Deimon postures up in Hopkins's guard and throws a big left but Hopkins blocks it. Deimon trying to control but Hopkins is working from the bottom. Hopkins pulls Deimon in close to his closed guard and prevents Deimon from doing any damage or advancing position. Deimon throws a big elbow that misses. Deimon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deimon stands up and waves to Hopkins to follow him. Deimon shoots in but Hopkins avoids the takedown attempt easily. Deimon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hopkins circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Deimon. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Deimon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hopkins stuffs the takedown. Deimon scores a takedown into full mount! Deimon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Hopkins is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hopkins wants to hold on but Deimon pushes him away. Hopkins slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Deimon controlling the action here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Deimon decides to return to a standing position. Deimon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hopkins is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deimon landing punches. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Deimon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Deimon working for a guillotine from mount but Hopkins is in no mood to give up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Deimon looking to ground and pound but Hopkins is blocking nicely.

Hopkins takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hopkins tries to hold on but Deimon pushes him away. Hopkins holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Deimon tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hopkins tries to lock up and control but Deimon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Deimon throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hopkins is trying to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Deimon dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hopkins fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Deimon is out of range. Silas Hopkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hopkins lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A leg kick checked by Deimon. Hopkins connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Deimon's hands. Deimon moves into range and clinches up with Hopkins. Hopkins lands with a short head shot on the inside. Hopkins connects with a knee to the head.

Deimon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hopkins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Deimon wants a takedown but no success here.

Deimon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hopkins after a bit of a struggle. Hopkins lands with a left to the head. Deimon blocking some punches.
Hopkins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Deimon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The referee calls for Hopkins to work.

Deimon has Hopkins pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hopkins manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Deimon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Deimon is trying to drag Hopkins to the mat but Hopkins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A short right from Hopkins. Hopkins working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hopkins creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Hopkins jumps guard and drags Deimon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Deimon advances to half guard. Deimon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hopkins is just riding it out for now. Deimon eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deimon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hopkins sees it coming and defends easily. Hopkins is looking to control Deimon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hopkins avoid being mounted? Deimon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Deimon is stalling here. Hopkins is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Deimon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hopkins has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Phil Deimon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Deimon tries to bench press Hopkins off him but Hopkins keeps the position. Deimon is not content to let Hopkins control the position. Deimon pushes Hopkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hopkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Hopkins has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hopkins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Deimon. Hopkins shoots in but Deimon avoids the takedown attempt easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Silas Hopkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Trouble for Hopkins! Deimon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hopkins really wants to buck Deimon off and get back to his feet. Deimon thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Deimon landing shots from mount. Deimon trying to control but Hopkins is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deimon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Lucky escape for Hopkins because Deimon loaded up on that one. Deimon working for a submission but Hopkins is keeping him at bay. Deimon goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hopkins is on top in guard.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hopkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Deimon swats him away and circles back towards the center. Deimon closes the distance and clinches up with Hopkins, looking for a takedown. Deimon pushes Hopkins against the cage but Hopkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hopkins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hopkins tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Deimon. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hopkins decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Deimon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hopkins defends it nicely. Hopkins throws a head kick that Deimon semi-blocks.
