Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Bias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mariano Ozawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mariano Ozawa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Bias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mariano Ozawa! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Bias tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ozawa just stands there and leans against the cage. Bias lands a shoulder strike. Ozawa blocks an uppercut.
Bias fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ozawa misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ozawa wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ozawa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mariano Ozawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bias keeps the fight on the outside. Ozawa throws a lazy head kick and Bias counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ozawa's guard now. Bias is breathing heavily. Bias preventing the sweep. Bias drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ozawa dives on top into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ozawa trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bias's guard. Ozawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ozawa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bias has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ozawa has managed to get both his arms back between Bias's legs - danger averted. Ozawa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ozawa manages to break the clinch.
Bias shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ozawa as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Bias. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ozawa moves in looking to clinch but Bias pushes him off. Ozawa fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ozawa throws a right and a left that both miss. Ozawa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Ozawa throws a head kick that half lands.
Ozawa feints a jab promting Bias to slip. Ozawa then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bias slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Bias fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bias avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bias shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ozawa sprawls well. Ozawa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bias gets slowly back to his feet. Ozawa doesn't manage to clinch there - Bias circles away.

Bias changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ozawa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bias thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bias goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ozawa has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bias but great work by Ozawa.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ozawa is looking to take a break and control but Bias is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bias actively working from the bottom here. Bias is refusing to be controlled, as Ozawa sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mariano Ozawa dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bias is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ozawa has managed to free his arm - good work. Ozawa is looking to escape. Ozawa is holding on to half guard well. Bias thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ozawa's head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bias is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ozawa manages to escape and get back to his feet! Ozawa tries to clinch up. Ozawa wants to clinch up but Bias keeps it at a distance. Ozawa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ozawa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ozawa is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ozawa is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bias.
