A fine choice. Vigrid Verdandi looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a really nice looking cross but Verdandi seems unphased.
Verdandi tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.

Smith blocks a head kick by Verdandi.
Smith walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Verdandi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Verdandi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Smith lands with a nice combination. Verdandi backs away looking to recover.

Verdandi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Mike Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Verdandi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.

Smith looks to land a combination but Verdandi avoids it well.
Smith avoids the head kick by Verdandi.
Smith scores with a shot to the body.
Smith feints with a jab and clips Verdandi right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Verdandi is sent crashing into the canvas and Smith leaps in for the kill! Verdandi tries to get to his feet but Smith is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Verdandi is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Smith!
