Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Silverman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Smith!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands with a kick to the ribs.
Silverman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith moves out of range as Silverman strikes.
Silverman lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Silverman circles away.
Silverman avoids the head kick by Smith.
Silverman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Silverman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Silverman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silverman is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smith.
Reggie Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith closes the distance and pushes Silverman back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Silverman forces his way into half guard.
Silverman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Smith gets back to half guard.

Silverman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silverman winds up and cracks Smith with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Smith won't allow Silverman to pass to mount.
Smith slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silverman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silverman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silverman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith looks gassed!

Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Silverman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Silverman wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.
Smith tries to roll over but Silverman keeps him under control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silverman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Silverman looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Silverman looking for a guillotine from mount but Smith is having none of it.

Silverman looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Silverman prevents Smith from getting the reversal.
Silverman trying to control but Smith is having none of it.

Silverman is working for a guillotine from mount but Smith frees his head quite easily.
Silverman looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Smith can't escape the position.

Silverman is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Smith is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Smith flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Silverman anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Smith and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Silverman slips an arm under Smith chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Silverman has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Silverman is squeezing on Smith like an anaconda would it's prey. Smith fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Fred Silverman!
Our winner, Fred Silverman, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
