The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ftw slaps away a takedown attempt from Serpentine, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Serpentine enables Ftw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Serpentine manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ftw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ftw drops back looking for a leg! Serpentine is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Serpentine manages to kick Ftw off! Ftw jumps back into Serpentine's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Serpentine keeping full guard, as Ftw tries to pass.
Serpentine really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ftw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ftw is pushing down on Serpentine's leg trying to pass to half guard. Serpentine is fighting to maintain full guard but Ftw has managed to sneak the leg through.
Serpentine is staying active underneath Ftw, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Ftw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Serpentine keeps working.
Ftw seems to be working for a kimura but Serpentine defends the submission attempt.
