Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nomor Gai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Governor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Governor has chosen Didgeridoo as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nomor Gai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Governor! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Governor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Gai is trying to maintain the position but Governor is very close to passing his half guard. Governor is looking to advance position but Gai won't allow it. Governor trying to control the action but Gai is working from the bottom. Governor is looking to stall here but Gai recovers full guard. Governor throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gai works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Governor looking to pass the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Governor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Governor trying to control the position from guard on top but Gai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Governor content to stall in guard here. Governor throws a big right hand that misses. Gai keeping moving, preventing Governor from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Governor was stalling too much, according to the referee. Gai rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Governor counters with a good low kick that Gai was not able to check. Governor ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Gai lands a nice shot to the body.
Gai connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Governor looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gai fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gai takes a kick to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Governor throws a quick inside leg kick. Governor avoids the body shot from Gai.
Gai throws a body punch but Governor moves out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Governor. Governor moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Gai throws a big shot that misses. Nice body kick there by Governor. Gai shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Governor as he avoids it easily. Governor slips a jab from Gai. Gai shoots and misses and Governor counters with an outside leg kick.
Gai is breathing heavily. Governor jabs at Gai's body. A left lands for Governor. Governor lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Governor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Governor throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Governor misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Governor wants to control but Gai is keeping him busy. The strikes coming from Governor are missing the target in this wave of attacks. A lull in the action here as Governor stalls from top position. Governor in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Gai on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Governor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Governor sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gai is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Governor working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Governor is looking to take a break and control but Gai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Governor lands an elbow. Governor wants to control but Gai is keeping him busy. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Governor landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Governor postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Governor dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Governor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gai is trying to improve his position. Gai isn't going anywhere. Governor wants to take a breather but Gai manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Governor. Governor with a flurry of punches that miss. Governor preventing the sweep. Gai is trying to keep Governor in close.

That's one minute gone in the round. Governor postures up in Gai's guard and throws a big left but Gai blocks it. Jimmy Governor has got the better of the ground game so far. Governor lands a couple of digs. Governor is in close to Gai's body, working some short punches and elbows. Governor tries to free his leg and advance position but Gai is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Governor trying to control the position from guard on top but Gai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Governor has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gai is proving hard to escape from. Governor postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Governor engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Governor postures up in Gai's guard and throws a big left but Gai blocks it. Governor wants to pass the guard but Gai is keeping the position. Gai has Governor pulled in close to control his posture.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A telegraphed right hand from Gai misses the target. Governor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gai.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick from Governor lands but Gai takes it in his stride. Gai misses with a left hand and Governor counters with a lovely shot to the body. Gai gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Governor wants to control from the top but Gai keeps moving. Governor lands a couple of digs. Governor connects with a couple of short punches. Gai looking to control.
Governor tries to free his leg and advance position but Gai is retaining full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Gai has momentary wrist control but Governor slips an elbow through the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Governor trying to control the position from guard on top but Gai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Governor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Governor looking to pass the guard. Governor has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gai trying to keep a closed guard but Governor is proving a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Governor wants to control from the top but Gai keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Governor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Gai keeping moving, preventing Governor from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gai preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Governor trying to control the position from guard on top but Gai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Governor wasn't active enough on the ground. Governor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Governor. Governor working the head and body with strikes. Gai on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Gai trying to control but Governor postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Governor in particular looking to stall. Governor looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Governor trying to control the pace. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gai swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gai looks for a takedown but Governor sprawls well. Governor feints and then cracks Gai's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gai down. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gai moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Governor tries to avoid it but Gai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Governor to the ground. Governor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nomor Gai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Excellent takedown into side control there by Governor. Governor trying to control the action but Gai is working from the bottom. Governor wants to take a breather but Gai manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Governor. Governor trying to control but Gai is working from the bottom. Governor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gai kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gai tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jimmy Governor is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Governor content to stall in guard here.

Governor darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Governor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gai on his heels. He'll look to pass Gai's guard now, I'm sure. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Governor trying to control the position from guard on top but Gai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Governor landing some decent shots from guard. Nomor Gai has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gai looking for subs off his back but Governor has passed one foot through into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Governor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Governor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jimmy Governor! Jimmy Governor spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a big arrogant.
