Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ralf Jem! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Jem. A right-left combo lands from Rogers. Jem throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rogers was covering up waiting for the punch and Jem finishes the takedown easily into guard. Rogers wants to get back to his feet but Jem is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jem is standing up over Rogers. Rogers looks to escape but Jem dives into side control.
The strikes coming from Jem are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jem throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Rogers works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Jem is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers is defending against the submission attempts here by Jem.
Jem is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jem really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jem stops Rogers from getting back to his feet.
Jem content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers is trying to stand back up but Jem is controlling him
Jem seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Rogers pushes Jem off looking to stand but Jem dives back in and keeps control.
Jem throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Jem content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jem trying to control the action but Rogers is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ralf Jem wasn't active enough on the ground. Rogers misses with a series of wild punches.
Jem slips under a jab. Rogers connects with a looping right hand.
Rogers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rogers keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jem takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Jem fails to land the takedown. Rogers fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jem looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jem misses with a double jab.
Jem darts in and clinches Rogers up against the cage. Rogers is trying to break free. Rogers prevents the takedown attempt.
James Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralf Jem. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jem keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rogers's efforts to push away. Rogers tries to break the clinch but Jem is controlling the position. Rogers wants to get back to striking at distance but Jem won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rogers can't break the clinch.
Jem keeps control of Rogers as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jem has Rogers pressed against the cage, preventing Rogers from circling away and getting back to striking at range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Rogers dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rogers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rogers slips a jab and a cross from Jem.
Jem shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rogers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jem prevents Rogers from getting back to his feet. Jem trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rogers wants to stand up but Jem is controlling him. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Jem from controlling successfully. Rogers can't keep his opponent in guard - Jem advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jem controlling the action here. Rogers is looking to escape. Jem is keen to just control but Rogers is a slippery customer. Rogers is trying to stand back up but Jem is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogers on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jem stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Jem pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers looks to land a combination but Jem avoids it well. Jem tries to clinch but Rogers moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Rogers. Jem does a little dance to reset his feet. A punch combination from Rogers misses. Jem closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rogers's guard. Jem is breathing heavily. Rogers wants to stand up but Jem is controlling him. Rogers manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jem is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rogers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Rogers misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers pushing out the jab but it's not landing. James Rogers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jem manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rogers on his heels. He'll look to pass Rogers's guard now, I'm sure. Rogers wants to get back to his feet but Jem is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jem gets to his feet. Rogers looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Jem shoots in for a double leg but Rogers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rogers is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Rogers connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers closes the distance and lands a one-two. Rogers looks to land a combination but Jem avoids it well. Rogers looks to land a combination but Jem avoids it well. Rogers throws a right and a left that Jem avoids nicely. Jem closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Jem pulls guard successfully.
Rogers wants to get up but he can't break Jem's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jem looking for a sweep. Not yet Jem, not yet. Jem has a closed guard, preventing Rogers from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralf Jem showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Rogers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jem. Rogers tests Jem's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jem throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jem is in Rogers's guard. Jem advances position into side control! Jem has knee on belly momentarily but Rogers bucks him off and regains half guard. Jem takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rogers tries to kick Jem off but Jem keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Jem controlling the pace. Rogers is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jem in particular looking to stall.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ralf Jem hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Jem rushes Rogers and presses him up against the cage. Jem is looking to take this one to the mat. Jem drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rogers gets the underhooks and prevents it.
James Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralf Jem. Jem tries to pull guard but Rogers forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jem keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rogers's efforts to push away. Rogers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Jem jumps guard but Rogers stands there with Jem around his waist. Jem gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rogers is trying to force a seperation but Jem has the dominant position. Jem pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jem shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Rogers lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jem backs up against the cage.
James Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rogers throws the left hand but Jem avoids the punch easily. Jem is looking to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jem fails with the takedown. Rogers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jem takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rogers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jem walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Rogers misses with a looping left. Nice sprawl there from Rogers as Jem shoots in. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jem tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rogers swivels and escapes. Jem slips a jab and a cross from Rogers.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A lazy left from Rogers finds it's target.
And that's the end of the fight! James Rogers showed his dominance in that final round. I think Rogers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
