The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bullle.
Bullle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
Bullle keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith is looking to take a break and control but Bullle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Smith misses with the ground and pound.
Smith trying to control the position but Bullle is working away.
Smith controlling the position from side mount.
You can see the frustration on Bullle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bullle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bullle.
Smith wants to control from the top but Bullle keeps moving.
Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Smith lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Bullle pulls Smith in to control the position.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bullle is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
Bullle is really struggling to control Smith but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Smith wants to control from the top but Bullle keeps moving.
Bullle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bullle fails with the takedown

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Bullle fights it but they end up in guard.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bullle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bullle keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.

Bullle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bullle has his hands on Smith's head, controlling the position.
Bullle tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Smith is fighting to break Bullle's control of his arms but Bullle is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bullle is proving hard to escape from.
Bullle controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.
Jason Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Bullle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Smith drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bullle pulls Smith in to control the position.
Smith postures up in Bullle's guard and throws a big left but Bullle blocks it.

Bullle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Bullle is keeping the position.
Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jason Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.
Bullle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Smith throws a body kick that misses.

Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bullle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bullle checks a leg kick.
Bullle has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Smith.
Smith scores with a kick to the body.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bullle regains half guard.
Bullle is controlling Smith's trapped leg to prevent Smith from advancing to side control.

Bullle is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Smith scores with a couple of nice shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith trying to mount his opponent but Bullle defends it.

Bullle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith is trying to control. Bullle wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bullle as he jumps to the side.
Smith scores with a jab.
Bullle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith.
Jullle Bullle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Smith.

Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Smith tries to work over Bullle's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bullle tries to circle away but Smith has him pinned against the cage.
Smith is pressed up against the cage. Bullle has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smith down to the mat. Smith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bullle fails with a takedown attempt.
Bullle takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bullle, pushing him back against the cage.
Bullle trying to stall but Smith improves his position.
Smith lands an uppercut.
Bullle working hard to break the clinch.

Smith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bullle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bullle looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Bullle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bullle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We're going to have a standup here because Jullle Bullle wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Smith counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bullle's guard now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bullle swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Smith. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
