The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
William swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gauge connects with a right hand. William shakes it off.
Gauge slips under a jab from William.
Tyson Gauge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gauge has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gauge lands with a right to the head.
It looks like James William has been cut.
William breaks from the clinch.
Gauge tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gauge throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gauge fakes high and swings low for a body shot but William manages to avoid it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from William lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gauge has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gauge and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A bone on bone clash there as William blocks the leg kick.
A punch lands to the side of William 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gauge lands a big head kick that sends William tumbling to the mat! Gauge takes a step backwards and waves William back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
William throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and William counters with a right hand to the body.

Gauge cracks William with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That has opened up James William's cut even more.
The fighters circling - William throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Gauge ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Gauge pivots, looking for a leg kick but William is out of range and Gauge settles back down.

Gauge tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Gauge throws a combination but it was largely blocked by William.

William manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
William looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
William is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

William looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gauge has picked William up and slammed him! William can't keep hold of the triangle and Gauge manages to pass to side control!
William tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gauge wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
William is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gauge stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Gauge dominated that round.

Gauge throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by William.
Gauge tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but William paws at him with a jab and circles away.
