Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Vieri! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Mcneilly! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vieri's corner calls for a 1-2. Vieri obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like James Mcneilly has been cut. Mcneilly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mcneilly tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vieri paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vieri lands with a hook. Mcneilly tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vieri misses the shot to the body. Vieri falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mcneilly connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Vieri fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Mcneilly decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vieri's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mcneilly is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vieri is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vieri has escaped and now he's on top! Mcneilly throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Vieri works a leg free and moves into half guard. Vieri tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mcneilly knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Vieri sitting and controlling from the half guard. Mcneilly looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vieri controlling the pace.

Mcneilly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vieri but Vieri pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vieri tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mcneilly was well out of range. Poor timing from Vieri. Good shot there by Vieri. Vieri misses with a series of wild punches.

Mcneilly looks gassed! Mcneilly throws a combination. Vieri tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Vieri throws a nice looking combination but Mcneilly bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Vieri lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Vieri misses with a double jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Vieri paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That has opened up James Mcneilly's cut even more. Vieri tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mcneilly was well out of range. Poor timing from Vieri. Vieri throws a right and a left that Mcneilly avoids nicely. Vieri throws a nice looking combination but Mcneilly bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Vieri connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Vieri misses with the combination.
Vieri pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mcneilly back to the cage. Vieri follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Vieri will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mcneilly fails to land the takedown. Christian Vieri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Mcneilly. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vieri throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Vieri misses with a wild body shot. A combination from Vieri does no damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christian Vieri dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Mcneilly's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Vieri feints a jab promting Mcneilly to slip. Vieri then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mcneilly slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Horrible takedown by Mcneilly or perhaps it was just good defense by Vieri which made him look bad. Sloppy strikes from Vieri. Those never looked like landing. Vieri is looking to wear down Mcneilly with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Vieri thows a body shot but no joy. Mcneilly keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vieri. Mcneilly moves away from the strike by Vieri. Vieri throws a right hand that Mcneilly ducks under and follows up with a left that Mcneilly also avoids with ease. Vieri avoids a punch combination nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mcneilly. Christian Vieri is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No joy there for Mcneilly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vieri lands a glancing blow to the side of Mcneilly's head. Mcneilly is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vieri cracks Mcneilly with a good jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vieri takes a swing at Mcneilly's ribcage but misses. Vieri lands a nice shot to the body.
Vieri is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mcneilly can do to turn this around? Mcneilly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vieri.
Vieri throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Vieri fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mcneilly looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Vieri throws a shot to the body.
Vieri scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vieri tries to bum rush Mcneilly with a series of wild strikes but Mcneilly uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sloppy strikes from Vieri. Those never looked like landing. Vieri uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Vieri throws a series of punches but Mcneilly avoids them all with ease. Vieri's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mcneilly connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vieri scrambles back to his feet. Christian Vieri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mcneilly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vieri but Vieri pushes him off and we're back to square one. Christian Vieri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Mcneilly. Mcneilly takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Vieri punishes Mcneilly's body with a nice straight punch. Vieri lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Vieri lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The cut above James Mcneilly's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Mcneilly takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Vieri lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Mcneilly goes down and covers up as Vieri starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Christian Vieri!
